GSL8
The GSL8 is a line array module designed specifically
for large-scale sound reinforcement. It is possible to
suspend up to twenty-four GSL8 speakers in columns
vertical columns, producing a dispersion pattern with
directivity of 80° in the horizontal plane. The GSL8
houses two 14" neodymium LF drivers facing forward and two
10" side-firing neodymium LF drivers. A coaxial
coaxial mid-high section contains a MF horn with one driver
10" and three HF compression drivers with 1.4" output and
3.4" voice coil mounted on a dedicated device for
wave shaping. The suspension hardware of the
SL series features a patented workflow with
integrated tension and compression rigging mode,
which allows opening angles between cabinets from 0° to 7° in 1° increments. The loudspeakers are actively driven by two
channels of an appropriate d&b amplifier: one channel
one channel powers the 14" LF drivers, the second channel powers all other
other components, the latter subject to passive crossover
passive crossover. This component geometry allows a
smooth crossover design with well-defined overlaps
between adjacent bands, ensuring a constant, uniform and
constant, uniform and very accurate horizontal dispersion. Thanks to the
arrangement of the front and side LF drivers, the
directivity is maintained from 45 Hz to over
18 kHz. The cabinets are made of marine plywood and
have an impact and weather-resistant PCP (Polyurea Cabinet Protection) finish.
impact and weather resistant finish. The front and side panels
side panels incorporate rigid metal grilles covered with an acoustically
acoustically transparent and water-repellent fabric. Each
side panel incorporates a recessed handle, while
additional handles are provided at the rear.
